Carla Maliandi

Carla Maliandi is a playwright, writer, journalist, theater director, and professor. She completed her graduate and post-graduate studies at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes. She has written and directed seven plays and has participated in multiple national and international festivals. She has published articles and stories in various cultural supplements and anthologies. Her first novel La habitación alemana (Mardulce, 2017) has been translated into English, German, French, and Portuguese, and film rights have been sold. Her second novel La estirpe (Penguin Random House, 2021) has sold to English and Portuguese and was published in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries. She currently teaches the Art of Writing at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes.
